The great migration of wild beast
Every year there is a great migration of wild beats from the Sarengeti to Masai Mara. The timing of the migration varies from year to year according to the grazing conditions prevalent in the ground. Sometimes the beats may stay longer in Sarengeti or sometimes longer in the Masai Mara. The migration is termed great due to the number of animals that take to the transit to take advantage of the seasonal rainfalls. The treat to the animals migrating comes from the crocodiles along the Grumeti River. This migration is also important to other animals such as the leopard and lions which take advantage of sheer number of wild beats to prey upon. After the season ends in the grass fields of the Masai Mara the wild beats again start their migration back to the Sarengeti national park. Not only the beats, the zebras and the gazelles travel with them too. If the rainfall fails in any one of these places then it causes deaths of large number of these animals and their predators. During their migration almost all the gazelles and the beats give birth and nurture them through the migration. The entire cycle repeats itself year after year.
